The Alter-G

is a state of the art piece of therapy equipment that enables patients with all types of lower body injuries and ailments to rehabilitate in an altered state of gravity. The Alter-G is a unique treadmill that can un-weight you, allowing you to walk, run, or perform closed-chain exercises within the treadmill earlier in your rehab process.

Anti-Gravity: the treadmill can be calibrated to decrease your body weight from 1%-80%.

Alter-G is FDA approved to be used safely in physical therapy for any lower extremity patients who are:

  • Approved by their treating physician for at least 25% partial weight bearing
  • Allowed to flex and extend their hip, knee, and ankle through a limited range of motion

Specifically Alter-G is proven to:

  • Minimize joint compression from ankle, knee, hip, into the low back
  • Enable proper “prehabiliation” prior to lower body surgeries
  • Provide precise implantation of partial weight bearing protocols (to 1% increments) allowing for the safest rehab possible
  • Give the patient a stable, safe environment to improve strength, flexibility and range of motion
  • Improve neuromuscular and proprioceptive status pre- and post-injury
  • Improve prosthetic training
  • Allow easy documenting and tracking of patient progress through rehabilitation

The Alter-G is used for:

  • Orthopedic Functional Rehabilitation
  • Neuro-rehabilitation Programs
  • Senior Rehabilitation Strengthening and Conditioning
  • Weight Loss/Obesity Rehabilitation
